As an outsider in this beautiful country, there are moments when Australia is so Australian that I want to take the country aside and say, “take it easy Australia. You’re becoming a cliche of yourself.”
But thankfully I’ve always held back. Because without fail moments later a story from America will sail over that so stupidly American that I forgive Australia for Australian-isms like the “socceroos.”
