Matt McCarron is a screenwriter, Emmy-winning copywriter, and illustrator.

I’ve worked on projects for Apple, Google, Sesame Street, Squarespace, Coca-Cola, P&G, Captain Morgan, and a bunch of others.

My career began when I drove to New York and lived out of my car so I could intern at the then-startup, Vitaminwater. Within a year, I developed the brand’s iconic voice. Within two, I oversaw all consumer-facing copy.

From there, I moved to Portland, OR, to participate in Wieden+Kennedy’s experimental school, W+K12.

I then worked full-time at W+K, Droga5, Squarespace, and Anomaly, and on board a 42ft sailboat crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

Outside of advertising, I spent the past six years writing a feature-length screenplay called TEN CENT BEER NIGHT until my script was acquired by Imagine Entertainment. Ron Howard called my storytelling “excellent.” Bill Burr said I was “pretty funny.”

While writing, I worked as a creative director for Apple and Google Brand Studio. I’ve also directed films for Apple, Uber Eats, and ANZ Bank.

My work has been awarded by the Emmys, Cannes Lions, One Show, Webbys, and D&AD.
