I was living in Brooklyn when a city named Wuhan was first mentioned in my headphones. Things sounded intense. In a bad way.
So I did what anyone else would do: I grabbed the nearest Australian, married her, and fled the country. Fortunately for me, she’s a total babe.
But I couldn’t stay ahead of COVID for long. Soon I found myself in another lockdown, in another country.
But lockdown in Australia was different. There was a strangeness to it that felt...comical. There were so many characters and relatively inconsequential storylines that gripped the nation. Many of which had a degree of ridiculousness.
I know lockdown was challenging and stressful for many Australians. And it was tragic for others.
Yet I ask you to consider one more view of lockdown in Australia: Lockdown was hilarious.
